New Boston Woman Arrested For Sending Ricin Laced Letters To President Obama And New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg

The media and officials have been searching for the person responsible for sending three ricin-laced letters to President Obama, New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg and the director of Mayors Against Illegal Guns since the notes were found during routine mail screenings in May. But now officials have now taken a culprit into custody.

MSNBC reports that local actress and mother of five Shannon Rogers Guess Richardson from New Boston, Texas, who originally claimed that her husband had sent the letters, was arrested in Arkansas today and charges are expected to be filed by Friday afternoon.

The letters were originally sent from Shreveport, La. on May 20 without a return address. Apparently, the letters' author had a beef with proposed gun control issues because the note obtained by NBC New York and addressed to Mayor Bloomberg said "You will have to kill me and my family before you get my guns."

Regardless of the threats made against him, Bloomburg stated in May during his weekly radio show that he felt perfectly safe. "I've got more danger from lightning than from anything else and I'll go about my business," he said.

Hopefully today's arrest will mark the beginning of the end regarding the mystery of the poisoned letters. That is, until someone else decides to try and kill politicians who are seeking to make America a safer place to live.
