New Salvation Army Boys And Girls Club Having Open House
The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club event is tomorrow Friday, March 28 “Open the Door and Take the Tour” of the new Boys and Girls Club. The youth membership is now over 30 children strong. Community Relations Director Sann Terry says, “children come from economically disadvantaged homes and without the Boys and Girls Club being in place, these children would be left unsupervised after school until their parents returned home.”
Sann went on to say, “just in the short amount of time that the Club has been open we have noticed a significant amount of progress in the areas of academic performance in addition to a boost in self confidence and self esteem. Our Executive Director, Da’Lisa White, has developed several innovative programs for the Club members.
Everyone is invited to come tour the new facility and experience all the programs set in place for all the children. Lunch will be provided tomorrow from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the new Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club located at 1303 Milam Street.
