Hostess Brands, bakers of twinkies and other items has asked a court's permission to shutdown its entire company after a strike crippled it's operation. The move would shut down one of the oldest and largest producers of baked goods, founded in 1930. It produces twinkies, hostess cupcakes, ding dongs, ho-hos, sno balls and donettes along with Wonder Bread.

The ceo  said 'we deeply regret the necessity of today's decision, but we do not have the financial resources to weather an extended nationwide strike.

The company  said it would continue to deliver products and its stores would remain open for several days to  sell already baked products.

Some 18,500 employees who are on strike will be losing their jobs.
