Nolan Richardson’s Son Dies at Age 44
Nolan Richardson III, son of former Razorback Head Coach Nolan Richardson and former Arkansas assistant for 10 seasons, has died.
No word right now as to the cause of death, but it’s been reported he has had health problems lately. No official comment from the family as of yet.
Nolan Richardson III had been out of coaching since he resigned from Tennessee State in 2007 after being suspended for bringing a pistol into the school’s arena.
We wish Coach Richardson, his wife Rose, and the rest of the family our sincere condolences. The Richardson’s youngest daughter, Yvonne, died of leukemia during Nolan’s first season at Arkansas.
My friend Bryan, who owns Hogcall.com, recalled his favorite memory of Nolan III.
One of my favorite memories is sitting in the upper deck of Bud Walton Arena at about 2am as Notes (Nolan III) came in looking for us while we were eating pizza and (some of us) drank Peppermint Schnapps. Then we took off through a back door and down to the batting cages. The next day after the game the “Running from Nolan (3)” song was born.
