A flag flying over Democratic Party headquarters in Lake County, Florida has veterans in an uproar. The flag, which staffers say was a gift, is your typical American flag. Thirteen red and white stripes, President' Obama's likeness over a blue background in the upper left hand corner... whoa.. Say what?

A local veteran noticed the flag and immediately more of his fellow veterans joined in on the calls for the flag to be taken down. Nancy Hurlbert, Lake County Democratic chairwoman, says the flag has been flying for months and this was the first complaint she has had over it.

Of course, she couldn't help herself but to try to imply racism was involved in the vets wanting the flag removed. She told Fox News that “It leads me to believe that it’s not about the flag, certain elements cannot accept Barack Obama as president.”

Here's the Fox News story..

So, what do you think about this? Personally, as much as I think putting any person's face on our flag is disrespectful, if someone wants to desecrate the flag go right ahead. That's what freedom is all about. We shouldn't be forced to pledge allegiance to the flag. We should WANT to pledge our allegiance voluntarily. We shouldn't be forced to respect the flag, we should voluntarily have respect for it. Not to mention, nowhere in the Constitution does it guaranty us the right not to be offended.

Freedom... That is what these veterans and their brothers in arms fought and died for, isn't it?
