Valentine's Day is next week so you may want to get working on that perfect gift.

Oh Valentine's Day. It's a day of love that is celebrated at any age. I still remember over-analyzing the tiny, paper Valentine that my elementary school crush gave me. I mean, everyone gave Valentine's to everyone in the class, but he decided to give me the Valentine with a skateboarder on it that said "You're RAD!" The love of my 11-year life thought I was RAD! Could there be anything sweeter in this world?

It was in that moment I should have realized that women are way more into Valentine's Day then men.

I know this isn't the case for every relationship, but I've definitely experienced it in mine over the years. Pretty much every guy I have dated made it clear that this "Hallmark Holiday" is not his cup of tea. It took me a minute to be OK with that, but now I am. In all honesty, it's taken a lot of the pressure off of my marriage.

And there's nothing wrong with that.

That being said, if your man has similar thoughts toward February 14 be prepared to give and not receive. If you can do that, then you're golden. Now the question is what to get your man for Valentine's Day? My advice is to keep it simple and practical. Find a gift that fits easily into his life/routine or even something that he wouldn't buy/do for himself.

Here are some of my Valentine's gift ideas for men:

Smartwatch - trendy, sleek, and can easily be dressed up or down

Alexa/Google Home - makes his life easier and has that "cool" factor

Cologne - buy a bottle of his favorite or find one you think will be sexy on him

Quality Shave Kit - most men won't fork over the money for an expensive shave balm or razor, but they'll use one

Handle a Nagging Task - surprise him by getting his car detailed or get that cracked screen on his phone fixed

If you're completely lost on what to get, use a site that takes the guess work out of gift giving. Surprisily.com creates surprise gift boxes for you. Just answer a few questions about the recipient and select how much you want to spend. They'll create a box and ship it. It's easy and they don't tell you what they're packing either so it's a fun surprise for both of you.
