The Miller County Sheriff's Office is investigating an overnight homicide that claimed the life of a Fouke, Ark., convenience store clerk.

Authorities responded to the EZ-Mart on US Highway 71 South in Fouke just after 2AM. Deputies located a female in the store. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Miller County Criminal Investigative Unit responded and initiated the criminal investigation. Shortly after 8 o'clock, police said Lieutenant Les Moody, Detective Wesley Penny, and Detective Patsy Dehart recovered multiple critical items of evidence including clothing the suspect wore during the crime, the weapon used to commit the crime, and identified and arrested the suspect in the Fouke community.

The suspect is a juvenile and his name is not being released

The name of the victim is not being released pending notification of next of kin.

The investigation into the incident is on going.
