Probably heard Scotty McCreery talking to Scott and Lisa a few weeks ago about Operation Christmas Child, something he's been involved with over the past few years. Well, this week Nov. 12 - 17 Operation Christmas Child is having their annual Shoebox collection week. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Nov. 18 from 2-4 p.m. collections can be dropped off at the House of Refuge family ministries building at 7th and Lake Drive. Everyone is encouraged to fill up a shoe box with school supplies, toys, hygiene items, a personal letter and a photo. Operation Christmas Child will then hand deliver these gifts to children in more than 100 countries who are victims of war, disease, disaster, poverty and famine.

Last year, listeners helped Operation Christmas Child collect over 8.6 million shoe box gifts to be delivered. This year the organization has a goal of 9.1 million gifts.

Other drop off locations include Rose Hill Baptist Church at 1707 West 6th Street an Millwood Baptist Church at 800 Highway 32 East, Ashdown, Arkansas.
