Main Street El Dorado is presents the Murphy USA Summer concert series. The series is free to the public and will feature national music artists performing outside on Union Square in the heart of historic downtown El Dorado. The concerts will take place the last Saturday of the month June through August.

The Summer Concert Series will kick off on Saturday, June 27 with Paul Thorn. This Southern-reared blues and roots rock singer-songwriter has become one of the most popular touring acts throughout the country. The Tupelo, Mississippi native is proud to be the “second-most famous musician to come out of Tupelo” and has toured constantly since his 1997 debut, “Hammer and Nail.” Thorn is presently touring in support of his 2014 release “Too Blessed to Be Stressed.”

Prior to the launch of his professional music career, Thorn was a professional boxer, having fought a nationally televised fight against former world champion Roberto Duran. In 1987, he won the Mid-South Middleweight Championship in Memphis, Tenn.

The Showtime Concert Series will start each scheduled night at 7 p.m., with pre-event music on the Showtime Stage and the headliner taking the stage at 8 p.m. The event will follow Main Street El Dorado's award-winning Showdown at Sunset performance, beginning at 6 p.m. on the steps of the Union County Courthouse at 101 N. Washington St., the center of historic Union Square. This award-winning event was named one of the Top-100 Events in North America by the American Bus Association and received the Community Trademark Award by the Arkansas Festival and Event Association.
