PG Solidifies Their Lead in Kicker Cup Standings

The Pleasant Grove Hawks have strengthened  their lead in the Kicker Cup City Championship standings with big wins over Krum and Gilmer in the last two weeks.

The Hawks remain unbeaten on the season improving to 6-0, after crushing Krum 63-0, and beating mighty Gilmer 41-38.

The Arkansas High Razorbacks stand in 2nd place in the standings with a 4-3 record following their win last Friday over Sheridan 35-21.

The Texas High Tigers are in third with a record of 3-3, after they downed Sulphur Springs 35-21 last week.

The Liberty-Eylau Leopards were eliminated from the Kicker Cup chase after they fell to Paris 28-24.

The Kicker Cup is a huge traveling trophy which is awarded each year to the Texarkana High School Football team that finishes the regular season with the best overall record.

In case of ties, head to head match ups and best overall point differential will decide the winner.

KKYR Radio will award the trophy to the winning team at its first playoff pep rally in November.

Here are the current standings for the three teams still in the running to win the City Championship:

1 Pleasant Grove  6-0   (+142 Points)

2. Arkansas High  4-3    (-5 Points)

3. Texas High        3-3   (+5 Points)
