Pleasant Grove & Queen City Advance in State Baseball Playoffs

Both Pleasant Grove and Queen City are preparing for the next round of the Texas Baseball Playoffs.The Hawks advanced to the Region semis with a two-game sweep of Mabank in the quarter finals. Queen City took two of three from Hughes Springs to move to their upcoming semi-final series.

Next up for Pleasant Grove (29-5) is a best of three series with Prosper (30-5). The series will be played at North Lamar in Paris with game one Thursday night at 7 p.m. and game two, and if necessary game three, Saturday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Queen City will face Elkhart in a best-of-three series beginning Thursday evening in Kilgore. The rest of the series would be Saturday afternoon.

Also, congratulations to the Genoa Central Dragons boys baseball team. The Dragons won their first ever state baseball championship over the weekend by beating Smackover.
