Chris Young wrapped his 2016 tour in Oklahoma on Friday night (Dec. 16), and country legend Randy Travis turned up backstage for a visit.

Young's headlining I'm Comin' Over Tour kept him busy for much of the year, with Dustin Lynch and Cassadee Pope joining him for the most recent leg. The tour wrapped up Thackerville, Okla., with a date at the WinStar World Casino & Resort on Friday, and later that night Young posted a picture from backstage to Instagram, depicting a beaming Travis with him and his band.

"Amazing last show of the year and Randy Travis showed up!!! Thanks Thackerville!!!!" Young captioned the post, adding the hashtag, "#ItMustBeChristmas."

Travis suffered a stroke in 2013 that took his ability to walk and speak, and he's been working very hard toward a full recovery since then. After a few sporadic public appearances over the last few years, the country icon stunned fans and the industry at his induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame in October by leading an emotional singalong of "Amazing Grace" at the podium, and in November he took part in an all-star performance on the CMA Awards, singing the closing line of his classic hit, "Forever and Ever, Amen."

Travis also turned up unexpectedly at Charlie Daniels' 80th Birthday Volunteer Jam in late November to help present a special award. He will be the subject of an all-star tribute concert in Nashville in February.

Young is wrapping up an especially great year that saw him score a No. 1 hit with "Think of You," his duet with Pope. The song scored them a Grammy nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.

“I am so honored by this morning’s news,” Young said after the nominations were announced. “Cassadee and I have had such a great time together with this song at radio and on tour. Having it not only go No. 1 but also be nominated for a Grammy is really incredible!”
