Road Construction Around The Area

The Texas Department of Transportation has several projects going on around the Texarkana area.Drivers should be aware of these projects that are currently going on in Northeast Texas. Interstate 30 near Hooks, construction of new frontage roads. I-30 Between Nash and Hooks in the westbound lanes, resurfacing of pavement. Traffic restricted to one lane. Expect traffic delays.

U.S. Highway 59 at I-30 interchange, placing barrier wall with traffic restricted to one lane. Also Highway 59 at FM 989(Kings Highway), reconstructing intersection replacing asphalt pavement with concrete. Traffic restricted to one lane each direction. Expect traffic delays.

Moores Lane between Richmond and Summerhill Road, widening the raodway to add continuous left turn lanes. Expect traffic delays. U.S. 259 between DeKalb and the Oklahoma State Line, widening of the roadway.

Also,  U.S. Highway 59 from south of FM 2148 in Bowie County to south of FM 3129 in Cass County, constructing new overpass at FM 3129 and concrete overlay on southbound lanes of U.S. 59, traffic restricted to one lane in each direction.

Finally, State Highway 77 in Cass County, adding shoulders from west of Powell Creek to State Highway 8 in Douglasville.
