Country music legend George Jones passed away on April 26, 2013 at the age of 81. The world mourned the death of perhaps one of the greatest country singers of all-time. Sammy Kershaw was a longtime friend of George Jones and he just finished a tribute song to George you have to hear.I think it's only fitting for a guy who has eerie similarities in his voice that sounds a lot like George. I remember the first time hearing Sammy sing I thought, "he sounds like George Jones". So, I guess if you're going to sound like someone it might as well be the greatest.

The Grammy nominated country music star has sold more than 5 million albums to date. In a recent interview Kershaw was quoted as saying,  "George was a major part of my life for many years,"  "He was my friend and mentor and I wrote this song with him in mind a while back and hoped that he one day might record it. I couldn't think of a more appropriate time to put it out. God Bless you, Possum and see you again someday my friend."

The name of the song is called "The Route That I Took" (My Tribute to George Jones). The song is available on amazon, iTunes and sammykershaw.com.
