Your friends at your local Texarkana Gun Club invite you to check out the many shooting sports matches that are held each month at the club off Highway 67 between Redwater and Maud.

Club members, some of regular shooters, along with a few new friends, shot our first warm up match this past weekend trying to get ourselves and our guns tuned up for the regular match season to begin on Saturday, March 5. This was a USPSA (United States Practical Shooting Association) match and will recur every first Saturday from March through October. 8AM setup - 9:30AM shooters' register. At 10AM, the match starts.

This is my sport and you'll see me update things here pretty regularly throughout the season. By the way, I came in 8th out of 18 in this first match. I'm also excited that my son, Tyler, will be shooting these matches this year for the first time at 14 years old. He did great on his first match by the way. Better than I did in my first match let me tell ya.

That's him in the pictures below with the Air Force shirt on.

Besides the USPSA match, we also hold a Steel Challenge match on the second Saturday, Rifle Match on the 3rd Saturday and a Plinker Plus match on the 4th Saturday.

If you have any questions about our matches or the gun club, visit their website.

Safe shooting everyone and we'll see you on the range.
