On Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 6PM to 9PM, citizens in neighborhoods across Texarkana, Ark. will be turning their lights on and getting together with friends and neighbors for an evening outside to celebrate the “33nd Annual National Night Out."

The National Night Out has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program to promote “neighborhood spirit” and “community partnerships”.  National Night Out, a year-long community building campaign, is designed to: (1) Heighten crime prevention awareness; (2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs; (3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and (4) Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Representatives from the Police Department, Fire Department, and City Hall will start their visits this year at approximately 6PM.  Officers will be available for questions and you can share your concerns about police services in your neighborhood. This is a great way to get to know your local police who protect and serve our community everyday. Please show your support on National Night Out.

If you are interested in participating in this exceptional community event, please call and register your party at 903-798-3187 or by email at kbennett@txkusa.org.

You can also visit the Texarkana Ark. Police Department online at their website.
