Six Leg Fun Run and 5K to Benefit the Texarkana Animal Care and Adoption Center

Do you take your dog out for a walk on a regular basis? Well, here's the perfect event for your four legged friend and you. Join in on the fun for the "Six Leg Fun Run and 5K" on Sunday, Jan. 31, in downtown Texarkana. The event is a fundraiser for the Texarkana Animal Care and Adoption Center, our local animal shelter.Participants can register to run or walk with their pet, and best of all if you don't have one the animal shelter will let you borrow one of their pets so you won't miss out on the fun. The race starts at 2PM.

Registration is under way and you can choose from several categories as listed below.

5K Run with or without your Furry Friend - $30
Fun Run/Walk - Bring your Furry Four-legged Friend - $15
Sponsor One Youth 5k Runner (12-18 yrs) no t-shirt - $5
Sponsor 5 Youth 5k Runners (12-18 yrs) no t-shirt - $25
Sponsor 10 Youth 5k Runners (12-18 yrs) no t-shirt - $50
Sponsor 20 Youth 5k Runners (12-18 yrs) no t-shirt - $100

The fundraiser was started by 11-year-old Shelby Dunphy-Day, a sixth grader at College Hill Middle School – Academy of Design. For more information go to the event website.
