Have you heard about a northern California man who was shot by his own father because he was singing a Kenny Chesney song on karaoke. Now the son William Oller, Jr.(in photo) has come forward only to say now: He doesn’t want his father to be charged!

“It is totally out of character, and the last thing I want to see is my dad in trouble or prison for something that truly I believe he didn’t know what he was doing at the time,” Oller, Jr., who still has a bullet lodged in his shoulder, said. He also said that his father who is 70, suffered two strokes recently and that this could have been what caused the shooting.

Oller, Jr. told KRCR that he was singing a Kenny Chesney song, but he doesn’t remember which song it was that got on his dad’s nerves enough to cause him to open fire shooting him multiple times. When this story was reported, it was unclear which Chesney song sparked the shooting.

Oller, Jr. said his father is a caring man who also advised him on his singing.

Oller, Sr. has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder.
