The State of Arkansas has some really talented musicians and singers. Barrett Baber and Kenny Lamb have just finished a new video of their winning Song of Arkansas which was entered into a promotional contest with the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism. The song was appropriately named "A.R.K.A.N.S.A.S. Get There From Here. As Song of Arkansas contest winners, the duo received a recording session and video taping of their winning entry along with $2,000. Celebrity judges chose from more than 230 entries to narrow the field to seven musicians, which were then voted on by the public.

Barrett is the son of a Baptist preacher, growing up in the church he performed choral music and eventually left to go to college at Ouachita Baptist University. It was there where he learned to play the guitar and started writing songs. He eventually left OBU to head to Nashville to apprentice as a songwriter then returned to Arkansas to complete his education.

His duo partner Kenny Lamb is an award-winning songwriter/producer and has wrote or produced many notable stars of all genre including N' Sync, Justin Timberlake, Aaron Carter, Take 5, Jason Aldean, Rhett Akins, Building 429, Ashley Monroe, and Whitney Duncan. It wasn't until he moved to Arkansas a little over a year ago from Nashville where he met Baber through some friends. The rest his history as they say!

You can see Barrett Baber and Kenny Lamb perform "A.R.K.A.N.S.A.S. 'Get There From Here' in Little Rock this Memorial Holiday Weekend for the 2014 Riverfest.
