The Office of Community Education at Southern Arkansas University has an interesting selection of affordable non-credit class options available for the public this fall.

American Sign Language I
This course is designed to develop the student’s expressive and receptive skills in American Sign Language. The student will be introduced to grammatical structure, use of expression in communication, and interpretation of English into American Sign Language.

Scuba Diving for Beginners
Obtain the knowledge and skills required to become a P.A.D.I certified instructor. The Professional Association of Diving Instructors is the largest and most prestigious training program in the world. The course consists of classroom, pool sessions, and open water checkouts (Lake DeGray). Minimum age is 10. Class is limited to 6 students.

Fall Youth Studio Art Workshop

This presentation will explore the differences, similarities, and general nature of Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia. Learn about detection, causes, risk factors, stages, and treatment of these diseases will be discussed.

Cookies with Amanda – Christmas Theme
Amanda Blanchard, owner of Cookie Doughmain, will explain basic cookie decorating tools, bags, and tips in this fun Mother & Daughter class. Learn how to properly outline, flood, and decorate cookies and practice those skills on freshly Christmas baked cookies. Fee includes 1 dozen cookies. Class size is limited to 12.
