About 118 miles of highways in rural Northeast Texas will soon have their speed limits increased from 70 to 75 miles per hour.The Texas Transportation Commission has approved the increases after last year also bumping up the limits on most rural interstate highways in the state. In our area the roads that will see the increase include:

Highway 59 from the Arkansas State Line to the Texarkana North City Limits - 4 miles.

Highway 59 in Bowie County from FM 2516 to the Cass County line - 5 miles.

Highway 259 in Bowie County from Hubbard to the Morris County line- 12 miles.

Highway 59 in Cass County from the Bowie County Line to North of Queen City - 8 miles.

Highway 59 in Cass County from West of Atlanta to East of Linden - 9 miles.

Highway 59 in Cass County from South of Linden to the Marion County Line - 9 miles.

Highway 77 in Cass County from the Morris County Line to West of Douglassville -18 miles .
