Have you ever wanted to learn how to Square Dance? East Texas Square and Round Dance Association will host the Texas State Federation of Square and Round Dancers Nominating Meeting and Dance at the Moose Lodge, 415 S Robison Road on Jan18-19, 2019. The event will take place from 7PM-9:30PM on Friday and 6:30PM until 9:30PM on Saturday.

Square dancing is not only good excercise but clean family oriented fun and entertainment for all ages. They have square dancers in their 90’s, square and round dancing. “Square dancing keeps everyone young at heart.” You can travel from East to West and from North to South in our “country” to find square dancing events, meet new dancers, and make the best of friends," said, Linda Carlile Publicity Director.

You will have the opportunity to meet the officers from the Texas State Federation of Square and Round Dancers, plus many other officers and dancers from all over Texas. The mission statement of the organization is to promote fun, entertainment and exercise to any age group through square dancing, round dancing, clogging, contra, and line dancing.

Free admission for non-square dancers. Square and round dance lessons are offered throughout the year by local clubs that include 40 hours of dance instruction spread over a certain amount of time and days.

Along with this square dance event, there will be a Tex-Ark Antique Auto Club car show from 11AM– 2Pm weather permitting. Trophies will be awarded to certain divisions and there will be a Hamburger/Chili Dog meal available to purchase for $7.. Registration will be $5 per entry and it can be used toward a meal.  All other meals purchased will be $7.
