Texarkana, Arkansas school officials say an unloaded gun was recovered from a College Hill Middle School male student.The incident occurred Wednesday inside the boys' restroom. A fellow student reported that the boy revealed a handgun inside the restroom. Assistant Principal Carol Miller quickly contacted the on-campus resource officer, who located the student.

The student was questioned and searched. An unloaded small caliber handgun was located and no bullets were found in the boy's possession. The boy said he brought the gun to school to show a fellow classmate. No one was injured during the incident.

The school system says the quick response of the staff and the middle school is an indication of the heightened awareness of safety procedures and their determination to provide a safe environment for students and staff on their campus.
