Liberty-Eylau ISD honored three individuals for their contributions to the LE community and schools at the board meeting, Thursday, March 18. Congratulations to Traci Thompson, Becky Fellers and David Daniels.

At Monday’s board meeting the Texarkana College Trustees approved the institution’s two-year strategic plan including its mission, core values and beliefs, top priorities, and goals. The approval of the plan solidifies measurable goals for the College that will strengthen the base of skilled and prepared employees available for the regional workforce.

The Arklatex 100 Club awarded more than $40,000 in grants for life-saving equipment and expenses to ten police and fire agencies in Bowie and Miller Counties at their recent board meeting.

At the board meeting on Monday, August 26, Texarkana College trustees approved an official partnership with Texas Veterans Commission Claims Representation and Counseling division to provide on-campus accommodations to TVC to provide aid in accessing benefits to any eligible veteran who served in the United States armed forces. Three important members of the Southern Arkansas University family were honored at Tuesday’s Board of Trustees meeting, including a retired teacher alumnus who has gifted more than $2 million to SAU Engineering; an SAU professor since 2001 with a distinguished record of teaching, research and public service; and a Board member who has served multiple appointments and leadership roles since 2009.
