This Easter weekend promises action, drama and plenty of mystery. Dewayne Johnson gets a staring role in the toy-based action franchise G.I. Joe:Retaliation. If alien invasion is your thing the latest adaptation of a Stephenie ('Twilight') Meyer novel 'The Host' is in theaters and finally Tyler Perry (Madea) is behind the camera in a story of hidden desire 'Temptation.' So hop into the box office

This weekend could be the biggest at the box office as the much hyped 'Oz the Great and Powerful' comes to theaters nationwide. With spring break starting to get underway it seems only fitting that movie producer Sam Raimi ('Amazing Spider Man') would release this fantasy tale derived from the iconic classic 'The Wizard of Oz.'  The upcoming 'Man of Steel' seems to get all the attention regarding

Big weekend at the movies, four new choices to pick from including a classic fairytale 'Jack and the Giant Slayer' a supernatural scary thriller 'The Last Exorcism Part 2 a comedy '21 and Over' and a submarine saga 'Phantom.' Think maybe Jack might be interesting to see if for nothing else the special effects.

Two new movies hit the theaters this weekend that guarantee chills and thrills. The first is a creepy thriller about a family terrorized by a mysterious force, Dark Skies. The other is Snitch, an action-packed crime drama about a father determined to save his son starring Dwayne Johnson. I actually wouldn't mind seeing both of these movies. How about you?

There's a little bit of variety for everyone at the theaters this weekend with four new movies. If your still recovering from a Valentine hangover, there are two thrilling tales of love in the South (but both stories very different), John McClane (Bruce Willis) returns for another round of action in the 'Die Hard' series. And for the family, a new animated adventure about good guys and bad guys in

If you're wanting variety at the box office this weekend, you're going to get it. A couple of new flicks are out - a comedy, a thriller, and a re-released '80s blockbuster classic. I think I'm going with 'Identity Thief.'

Going to be an interesting weekend at the box office. The latest trend today seems to take a classic fairy tale like Hansel & Gretel and give it a modern twist, also one of the biggest casts of  Hollywood stars we've ever heard of gets together for 'Movie 43' and action star Jason Statham does what he does best in 'Parker.' A true story about the hunt for Osama bin Laden, a throwback gangster tale starring Sean Penn and a horror spoof starring Cedric The Entertainer all hit theaters this weekend, giving you a variety to pick from. Think I'll go with the gangster tale!

January is kicking off with lots of blood and guts with a 3D version of a newly updated version of the franchise 'Texas Chainsaw 3D. This R-rated slasher will definitely scare the you know what out of you, only this time you will feel every splatter of blood bounce off the screen. And if blood is not your thing a South American-set tale of industrial espionage 'A Dark Truth' in theaters this weeke

Finally, if you are a 'Lord of the Rings' fan it's what you have been waiting for. 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' hits the box office this weekend and hopes to shatter some box office records. This could be the biggest hit so far in the Christmas season. There is only one other movie released this weekend and it's 'Save the Date'.  Think I'll hobble into the theaters this weekend and see 'The

It's been awhile since Bill Murray has been on the big screen but he is back playing an historical President. If you want some adult-friendly comedy fun then you'll more than likely enjoy the Gerard Butler movie. The other movie in theaters this weekend is a crime drama/ action thriller starring Eric Bana. My personal pick 'Deadfall.'

So I think we sort of hit a lull period at the cinema this weekend. There's not much in the way of blockbuster-type movies coming out. If you want action/drama, a horror sequel, or an 80s remake of 'Silent Night' about a Santa serial killer, that's what you'll find at the box office this weekend.  Not much choice, but I think I'll go with the Brad Pitt action flick!
