In Philadelphia, Penn., the Great Valley School Board proposed in March that athletic programs, social workers and elementary school music lessons be cut in order to close a $5.6 million financial gap and stay within budget for the 2012-2013 school year, according to Pete Kennedy on Patch.com. To date, no final decisions have been made.

This story is disturbing on several levels. An 8 year old in Denver, Colorado had what can only be described as a violent temper tantrum, throwing a tv and chairs then attempting to bust into an office with a cart where teachers had taken other students for safety.

Two Texarkana Schools that were going to be off on Monday Presidents Day February 21st, will now be in session. Pleasant Grove ISD and Texarkana, Texas/TISD will have classes on Monday as a make-up day for the recent “Snow Days” enjoyed by students and teachers.
