September 11th, 2001 began like any other day as I hurried about the bank tending to customers' needs. “May I help you,” I asked each new customer who came in, forgetting that there was a world outside the branch. Then the doors swung open and a somber-faced policeman entered to tell us that the world had changed forever.

I remember coming to work that morning and seeing all my co-workers standing in front of the television and wondered what was happening. As I continued to watch I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

In the 10 years since the attacks, a slew of products have been created to commemorate the tragic events of the day — with some being less tactful than others.

This year marks the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 a day we will never forget. Several Texarkana organizations have joined together to host a commemorative weekend of special events memorializing those lost, and recognizing 9/11 families, police, fire, local veterans and military personnel. Everyone is cordially invited to attend these special events.
