The City of Texarkana, Texas Parks & Recreation Department will be having their annual fishing derby on Feb. 21-22 at Spring Lake Park fishing dock.The fishing derby is for area special needs children and adults -FREE-BY INVITATION ONLY. I will never understand why it's so hard for some people to pick up after themselves, or allow their kids to leave huge messes at our local parks and public use area's. It takes, what, less than 2 minutes to gather up your trash whenever you have a picnic at the park and put it in the garbage cans?

We had a group meeting the other day to discuss topics we could blog on, and I volunteered for The Top 5 Public swimming facilities in town. I thought, this will be cool. Maybe I could swim at a couple of local places. Maybe take some photos or video. Problem is, Texarkana does NOT have any public swimming pools!
