Are you starting to stress knowing that the tax deadline is coming up on Monday? Happy to say got my taxes done today feel so much better. I always feel like a weight is lifted off my shoulder when the whole process is over and done with.
Once again the Texarkana, Arkansas "border city tax exemption" is being reviewed by the state legislature. Seems kind of pointless, however, if Arkansas does indeed do away with income taxes next year like they're currently discussing.
Yesterday, the Senate rejected a bill that would strip big oil of its tax breaks. This bill wouldn't affect ALL oil companies, just the top 5 revenue earners. Democrats claim these "big oil" companies are stealing money from American tax payers and by golly that's just not right. (Just a side note: this whole "big oil/Senate" showdown is a repeat of 2003. Same cast of characters, same plot, same claims, etc.. the facts haven't changed.)
