Texarkana Arkansas is offering amnesty to those with warrants for traffic violations or contempt of court charges effective immediately and running until March 31, 2014.
The Texarkana Arkansas City Board of Directors were unable to pass the proposed budget tonight for 2014. The board voted to delay the vote on the budget until later this month. The biggest budget increase seems to be a $400,000 raise in costs of the Bi-State Justice Building.
Jessica Hyman, interim city manager for Texarkana Arkansas has submitted her resignation, and intends to return to her position as City Finance Director.
The Texarkana Arkansas Board of Directors had an emergency meeting this afternoon (9/5) to make a decisions about re-hiring former city manager Harold Boldt. The board voted 4 to 2 in favor of rehiring Mr. Boldt.
This past Tuesday night, Arkansas side officials held a public hearing to discuss train noise along highway 67. In attendance, city officials along with representatives of Union Pacific and eight concerned citizens discussed solutions to the problem.
