Have you noticed lately that Texarkana seems to be trending in Hollywood TV shows and movies when it comes to using that name in a storyline? What about songs?
I've been doing radio for a long time in the Texarkana area and over the years I have heard a ton of music. You may be surprised to learn there are quite a few songs that mention Texarkana in their lyrics even a few with Texarkana in the title.
What inspires a song you hear on the radio? Is it an experience a songwriter had while in the area? Or maybe the word just fits into the lyrics. Whatever the case may be, being in the broadcast music industry, you learn a lot of what goes on behind the scenes in making a great song. I didn't realize how many songs are out there, that actually mentions Texarkana in it's lyrics.
The other day some of my friends and I were talking about songs that mention Texarkana in the lyrics and the title. I knew of a few songs right off the bat like "Eastbound and Down" from the movie Smokey and The Bandit. But did you know there are actually several songs?
