Tanya Tucker has been forced to postpone a string of upcoming tour dates after being hospitalized due to an upper respiratory infection during her North American tour.

Tucker became ill on Friday (Oct. 7) before a show in Watertown, S.D., and canceled the evening's concert. KSFY-TV reports that, the following day, Tucker was still not feeling well and, after visiting a local clinic, was diagnosed with pneumonia before being airlifted back to Nashville for continued treatment. The "Delta Dawn" singer is currently recovering in Music City.

"I cannot apologize enough to all the fans who bought tickets and were looking forward to seeing us on the road," says Tucker in an official press release. "I just feel terrible, but I’ll get even worse if I don’t take care of myself. I love you all."

As a result of her illness and subsequent recovery, Tucker has postponed six tour dates over the next few days; a list of the postponed concerts is below. There is no word yet on when the shows will be rescheduled, nor details about ticket refunds, but fans can visit Tucker's official website for more details. The singer's next scheduled show is on Oct. 22 in Renfro Valley, Ky.
