Maybe we have finally reached the point where the tattoo business has leveled off.  Maybe some folks are starting to realize that barbed wire on your neck hurts your chances of being promoted to head bank teller.

According to a recent study, tattoo removal has increased 32 percent in the past year alone, and mostly because people want jobs.  Sure that tattoo was cool to all of your unemployed friends, but with the job market growing tougher, more people are giving up the ink for work.

700 people were surveyed about why they had their tattoos removed last year, and 40 percent said the number one reason was “job related”, 18 percent removed an “ex’s” name, 16 percent had a tattoo removed because of a change in beliefs, and 11 percent said the just didn’t like their tattoo anymore.
