The Texarkana Arts & Historic District committee will host TripAdvisor executive Scott Caufield on Wednesday, December 9, to discuss regional marketing and tourism efforts.

The seminar will take place from 9:30-11AM at the Texarkana Convention Center located at 910 South Cowhorn Creek Loop and will highlight data TripAdvisor has collected on tourism in Texarkana. The discussion will also include tips on reputation management and travel behavior throughout our region. The public is invited to attend, especially those in the hotel, hospitality, and restaurant industry. Seating is limited. The Arts and Historic District committee is made up of organizations that work together to market activities and events in downtown Texarkana to promote tourism and visitors to the area. Participants include both cities of Texarkana, Texarkana Main Street, Texarkana Chamber of Commerce, the Texarkana Museum System, Texarkana Regional Arts and Humanities Council, and the Texarkana Museum Systems. This group is also responsible for downtown banners that have recently been installed and wayfinding signage in downtown.

The group also is currently conducting an economic impact study with Texas A&M – Texarkana intern, Holden Fleming, community representatives and professors from Texas A&M – Texarkana.
