Texarkana is bustling with activity today during Railfest 2012. One of the main attractions this weekend is the Seventh Annual Car Show sponsored by the Four States Auto Museum, located at 217 Laurel Street.

Over 80 automobiles are gathered for one of the biggest car shows the Ark-La-Tex has seen, sporting everything from a pristine green 1927 Ford Model T  to a gorgeous silver Shelby Series I, created by the recently deceased Carroll Shelby and owned by Wendell and Lynn Perritt of Magnolia, Ark.

Whether you remember when these classic cars actually took to the streets for the first time, or are a wide-eyed youngster amazed by the massive strength and power behind these beautiful moving pieces of history, you’re sure to have a good time checking out one restored vehicle after another.

So bring the family downtown. The antique car show is open till dark, admission is free (although donations to the museum are accepted), and you can even enjoy a fresh grilled burger and other tasty eats. Then be sure to buy a raffle ticket for your chance to win a 46-inch flat screen television.
