Texarkana Texas Police Department arrested 51 year old Clarence Baker, for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon after he allegedly stabbed another man.

Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 3600 block of Elizabeth Street at 11:11AM Monday morning on a possible stabbing.  According to authorities, Baker apparently believed that the 53 year old victim was romantically involved with his girlfriend and confronted him in the complex’s parking lot.  The two fought, and Baker produced a knife from his pocket.  Baker then allegedly cut the victim on his hand and then pursued him through the complex with the knife and a broom handle.  At some point, police say he managed to catch up with the victim and stabbed him on the back of the arm.  Baker fled into his apartment, where officers subsequently located and arrested him without incident.

The victim was transported to Christus St. Michael Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Baker was transported to the Bi-State Jail, where he awaits a bond hearing on Tuesday morning.
