Former Texas High Quarterback and Texarkana native Ryan Mallett has just been named the starting QB for the NFL Houston Texans by Head Coach Bill O'Brian. The former third round pick out of Arkansas will finally get his first regular season start to prove his worth on the field and it looks as though O'Brian has given him the nod to remain as the quarterback for the remainder of season barring injury. Mallet who has been in the NFL for four years previously with the New England Patriots but never has had a shot to be a starter welcomes the challenge according to ESPN.  Mallett replaces Ryan Fitzpatrick who has now been named the backup. Mallett will get his first start with the Houston Texans against the Cleveland Browns in week 11 (Nov.16) at 12 noon and former Patriot QB Brian Hoyer is now the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns.

Congratulations Ryan Mallett and Good Luck!!! Be sure to check out Ryan Mallet on facebook.
