The Texarkana, Ark., Police Department is proud to announce that Cpl. Les Munn has been chosen as the recipient of the Taser and PoliceOne Rise Award for the Protecting Life Category. Cpl. Munn was nominated by a fellow Officer in March of 2015 for his actions in two separate incidents, where he provided lifesaving measures that subsequently saved the lives of three individuals. Additionally, he was recognized for implementing an impressive police explorer program.

TAPD was notified by Taser and PoliceOne that Corporal Munn was chosen from nearly 200 nominations of officers from all over the county who have risen above the call of duty to better their towns and cities.

For Cpl. Munn’s accomplishment, TAPD will receive a $5,000 Axon technology grant, Cpl. Munn will receive an all-expense paid trip to the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) 2015 conference in Chicago, IL, and a one-year free subscription to the PoliceOne Academy.

Police Chief Robert H. Harrison said he is extremely proud of Cpl. Munn for his accomplishments.
