Another one of Texarkana’s favorite Asian restaurants has closed their doors, and we were even more surprised when we found out which one  it was.

Texarkana’s “Shogun Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar” on Summerhill Road has closed their doors.  Shogun’s was a local favorite for their cooking in front of you on the Teppanyaki Grills, and they were one of the very first Sushi places in town.  (Sources were unable to say if the restaurant will re-open.)

Earlier this month the “Asian Buffet” on Richmond Rd. closed.  (I personally loved getting Sushi there, I know, “Don’t get sushi from a Chinese restaurant”, but they rolled it up fresh to order and you could get 3 sushi rolls for $10.50… and it was AWESOME!  Talk is that a “Gold’s Gym” franchise will be moving into that location later this year… and no word if they will be re-opening in a new location.)

So, with Shogun’s gone that leaves Fuji Kim’s and Osaka as the only Japanese Cuisine/Sushi Bars in town.  (They have some sushi at some of our local Chinese Buffets if you want hours, sometimes day old sushi.) I am a regular at Mr. Kim’s, so it’s fair to say that’s where I go more often now, but I hear Osaka has a pretty good lunch special…???
