Texas High School Tiger Theatre Company Students Earn Top Awards

Texas High School Tiger Theatre Company students participated in the Texas Thespian Festival on December 3-5 in Dallas with four students earning top ratings in individual events.

Elicia Bilyeu in Monologue and Logan Smith in Solo Musical each received an overall Excellent rating for their performances.

Grace Hickey in Monologue and Madison Sutton in Stage Management each received an overall Superior rating and are now qualified to compete in the National Individual Event Competition at the International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, NE during the summer of 2016.

The Texas Thespian Festival is a state-wide festival, open to any active Texas Thespian Troupe. Considered one of the biggest theatre festivals in the United States, the Texas Thespian Festival 2015 had more than 6,000 students attend for three full days of educational theatre workshops, performances, auditions and professional guest instructors. There are more than 500 troupes throughout Texas focusing on promoting excellence in middle school and high school theatre departments.
