Texas High parents and students are encouraged to attend a special workshop at the school Thursday February 6.

Texas High School will host a Parent/Student Meeting regarding Advanced Placement and Dual Credit course enrollment on Thursday, February 6 for current students in grades 8 – 11, as well as any other interested students not currently enrolled in TISD.  The meeting will be held from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Dan Haskins Student Center at Texas High School.  Parking will be available at 2112 Kennedy Lane.

During the workshop, parents and students will learn more about these two unique programs that enable high school students to receive college credit hours.  Additionally, course syllabus and requirements will be detailed.

Studies show that preparing and motivating high school students for college-level work must begin early.  Students who acquire analytical thinking and communication skills at an earlier grade level are more likely to succeed academically in challenging college courses.
