Texas Side Police Officer Dies After Hit and Run

Texarkana Texas Police have arrested a suspect after a Police Officer was struck by a vehicle overnightPolice say 21year old Justin Sanders has been charged with aggravated assault on a public servant an bond set at $1.5 million dollars. Officer William Sprague has died from his injuries.

Police were called around 12:30 a.m. to the Grady Wallace Park in reference to a disturbance involving around 100 people. Officer William Sprague was first on the scene and was attempting to make contact with the driver of one of the vehicles leaving the area when he was struck.

Officer Sprague was transported to a local hospital with injuries to his upper body and head.
