The Ark-La-Tex Seems to Have a Thing for Outdoor Drinking

This doesn't surprise us one bit given how much time we spend outdoors.

It's summertime in the south and if you expect to survive this blazing heat, you better have a beverage in hand (preferably water). Of course, summertime is also a time to celebrate which is why there is such a thing as summer cocktails/beer/wine/etc.

Around the Ark-La-Tex we find breweries, patios and rooftops serving up some delicious adult beverages.

This is why we are one of the best areas to drink outdoors. Two of our states made the top 20 on a list of the Best States for Outdoor Drinking put together by SuperCall.com, with Arkansas landing just outside of that number at 21. Super Call describes itself as the "Spirit of Cocktails and Culture" so I think it's safe to say they know what they are talking about.

Here's how they broke it down...

21. Arkansas - Known for it's gorgeous natural outdoors spaces with hiking trails, hot springs and watering holes. Not too mention the abundance of patios in which you can enjoy a beverage.

18. Louisiana - Bourbon street. Mardi Gras. Drinks to-go. Do we really need to say more?

14. Texas - The Lone Star State features drive-thru liquor stores and is known for making several liquors and beers that are sold all across the country. Pair this with the sheer number of outdoor festivals, watering holes and sporting events and it's no wonder they ranked in the top 15.
