Okay it's that time of the year when temperatures are soaring in the 90s and above and if your job requires you work outdoors this can be very excruciating and dangerous to your health.

I was mowing my yard the other day and was drenched in sweat in about an hour and I got to thinking about the people who do this for a living like landscapers and you get to realize just how lucky you are if you work in an air conditioned environment.  Let's take a look at some jobs in Texarkana that could be classified the hottest jobs to have.

As I mentioned this is a hot job steadily working outdoors with not much way to stay cool other than a shade tree if there is one available.

Not only is this a hot job but it is a dirty smelly job but it's one that has to be done. Climbing on and off of the back of a truck all day with the exhaust of the truck below you, it's gotta be hot and exhausting no pun attended.

Firefighters and First Responders

These men and women have to be ready under any kind of condition but fighting a fire when the temperatures are already hot can be very dangerous if not deadly for these heroes who lay their lives on the line every day.

These workers should be nicknamed "Road Warriors" for the thankless job they have working in extreme heat while pouring asphalt, blacktopping roads and moving dirt. And it's also dangerous while working in work zones with passing cars going by.

You have to feel for the folks who choose this as a job cause you know it's going to be very hot. I mean not only is it hot but the shingles would be like handling a hot coal, no thank you.

A buddy of mine told me he has a friend that works at Cooper Tire as a tire finisher and said temperatures can get well over 110 degrees or more. The next time you're rolling on a new set of tires you can thank him for his hard work.

Garage Mechanic

Depending where you work being a mechanic can be a very hot job. Many places have no air conditioners just fans and some may be air conditioned but with having to constantly  open the bay doors it's not going to stay cool for very long.

Depending on what your job is and where it is, this can be a very hot job. Not only do you have to wear a special suit, goggles and helmet but the welding arc is extremely hot in itself.

I'm sure there are plenty more hot jobs I could have mentioned but these are just a few that come to mind. Hat's off to all those workers who keep America moving in hot cold weather.
