The Oak Ridge Boys Concert Sold Out and Moved to New Location
If you are planning to attend the Oak Ridge Boys concert at the 40th Annual Hope Watermelon Festival this Saturday evening the concert has been moved to a new location and is sold out.
Due to heavy rains predicted for our area on Saturday, the concert has been moved from Hope Fair Park to Hempstead Hall on the Campus of the University of Arkansas at Hope, 2500 South Main St. Doors open at 6PM and the show starts at 7:30PM with Miss America, Betty Cantrell and the winner of the Watermelon Idol contest.
In addition, weather permitting, you can participate in the Watermelon 5K Run, 2016 Little Miss Watermelon, Watermelon Idol talent contest and the Watermelon Car Show.
Hope is best know as the “Watermelon Capital of the World” because of the largest watermelons ever produced. Not only can you purchase watermelons at the festival but they naturally will be serving up slices of ice cold watermelon for everyone to enjoy. There’s nothing more refreshing on hot summer days than biting into a fresh slice of melon. The festival also features a number of melon-oriented events such as the seed-spitting contest and the watermelon-eating contest.
