The always-entertaining Battle Rounds continue this week on The Voice, which entail two team members performing together to see who will make it through to the Knockouts. On Monday (Oct. 22), two of coach Blake Shelton's own faced off, tackling a song that George Jones made famous in the '80s.

Dave Fenley and Keith Paluso tried their respective ranges on "I'm a One-Woman Man," which caused both Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson to be confounded as to whom won the vocal joust.

Hudson termed the duet "fun," and pointed out their differences: "You're over here in the basement," she said to Dave, adding, "And you're here in the rafters," to Paluso. "I'm not picking," she concluded.

Clarkson agreed, terming their pairing as "raw and organic." However, she also noted, "I'm not going to be helpful because I am not picking."

Meanwhile, Adam Levine—who had been blocked by Shelton in choosing Paluso—sagely pointed out that Paluso was not a country singer. His observation was

The reason why you are paired together is so I can find out who has the best beard," joked Shelton of the two well-hirsute singers. However, in all seriousness, he praised their "completely original" take on the Jones tune before ultimately (and unsurprisingly) choosing Fenley as the winner of the battle.

That wasn't the end of things, though. When host Carson Daly invited Paluso to say a few words to Shelton, Levine called out: "Keith, hey, Keith!" and slammed out the night's first steal. Nice! Let's see how this plays out.
