Thomas Rhett is on fire! The 24-year-old recently scored his second consecutive No. 1 hit with his latest, Gold-certified single, 'Get Me Some of That.'

Rhett's song held the top spot on both the Billboard and Mediabase Country Charts. The song follows the title-track from his 'It Goes Like This' album, which topped the charts in October 2013.

He's not the only one in his family celebrating the hit. His father Rhett Akins co-wrote the single with up-and-comer Cole Swindell and Michael Carter. Akins also helped write 'It Goes Like This.'

Collaborating with fellow country stars is nothing new for Rhett. Earlier this year he and 10 other country artists came together to support Outnumber Hunger, recording a song called 'Give 'Em Hope.' The singer called the experience "inspirational," adding that he's proud to support this cause. Big Machine Label Group (including Rhett's label, the Valory Music Co.) is donating 48 percent of each purchase of the song from iTunes to Feeding America, to benefit local food banks across the country.

"Emotional" is how Rhett describes hitting No. 1 for a second time. The songwriters (and Luke Bryan) showed just how proud they are of him in a new video on Swindell's YouTube channel.

“I did not [know it was happening]," Rhett tells Taste of Country. "That video, man, it ... really did about make me cry. That’s just how country music is."

"We’re all in competition with each other, but it’s a fun competition, so when your buddies do well and have No. 1 songs, it’s just, you can’t help but root for one of them, and you want to make them feel special about that day, so that’s exactly what Cole and Michael and Luke did for me. It was just a really cool video, and just an awesome, friendly way to say, you know, congratulations on your No. 1 song.”

Rhett isn't stopping the fun now. He's just wrapped up an opening slot for Brantley Gilbert on his Let It Ride Tour.
