Okay, now Thomas Rhett can die a happy man. He finally met Bruno Mars!

The kindred spirits united backstage at a recent show (Mars' 24K Magic Tour was in Memphis, Tenn., on Sept. 17), and it was a longtime coming. Rhett is a self-proclaimed superfan of the innovative Mars, and he was pretty stoked to take a bro pic. The "Unforgettable" singer posted two photos from the meet-and-greet, one with him and Mars flashing the peace sign at the camera and another featuring the two superstars with Rhett's wife Lauren and two of the couple's friends.

"Also this night with these people was one for the books," Rhett writes alongside the group photo. According to the singer's caption, his friend Cameron Duddy orchestrated the meeting. Duddy is a frequent collaborator with Mars, having directed his music videos for "24K Magic," "Locked Out of Heaven" and "The Lazy Song."

Thomas Rhett Shares How Family Inspired New Song, "Life Changes"

Rhett and his Home Team Tour openers Kelsea Ballerini, Russell Dickerson and Ryan Hurd, covered Mars' hit "24K Magic" throughout the tour's duration, in addition to Rhett himself doing renditions of “Uptown Funk” and "When I Was Your Man” in 2015. During one particularly hilarious performance of the Mars hit, Rhett's tourmates decided to surprise him by dressing up in giant carrot costumes before heading out on stage to sing the song.

“I’m obsessed with Bruno Mars’ records. I’d give my right leg to be able to sing like that dude," Rhett tells Rolling Stone Country.

His own album, Life Changes, made its grand debut in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200marking the first time a country album has been in that position on the all-genre chart in 2017.
