For years and I'm talking years, it has been drilled into our heads that we need to floss our teeth every day. Now, we hear maybe we don't really need to floss?  Don't throw that floss in the trash just yet. Here's how this all came about.

This news is a little misleading until you know more of the story.

The federal government issues a dietary guideline for us every five years.

The guidelines are supposed to be based on scientific evidence. So, the Associated Press decided last year to ask the government for its test results. Yeah, that's when our government said . . . well, we really don't really have any research on the benefits of flossing. Oops.

I mean really. Just think about it. We know cleaning our teeth is good. And flossing is cleaning in between your teeth. That can't be a bad thing right? See what I mean? I'll keep flossing, thank you. Well, when I remember.
