It's that time of year again when leaves start to change color, and the air becomes a little crisper. Of course, so far it's felt more like summer. One of the favorite things to do this time of year is seek out corn mazes and pumpkin patches near the area.

Here is a list of my top 4 Corn Mazes and Pumpkin Patches:

Take Interstate 30 to exit 220B toward Richmond Road/Pavilion Parkway/Farm to Market 559. Proceed to the light. Take right on Richmond Rd./FM 559. Continue approximately 3.1 miles. The destination is on the right. Turn onto asphalt drive and proceed to park.

This family owned farm located in Texarkana, Texas recently kicked off another exciting 2017 Fall Festival Sept. 30-Oct. 29. Family fun abounds with hayrides, cow train, cube cannon, roping station, corn maze, games and flicks in the sticks (outdoor movies) plus new this year corn crib and hay jump. Kids will get an educational experience during their visit seeing registered Texas Longhorns, learn how fruits and vegetables are produced and see how honey is made with their beekeeping at the farm.

DixieMaze Farms near Shreveport is well known for its corn maze that features a new design every year. This maze has two different phases a challenging one for thrill seekers and one less challenging for those who just want to have fun. And for those who want a little scare make sure you visit their Haunted Maze and Field of Screams if you dare. Other activities include the barn swing, corn cannons, pumpkin chunkin' duck races, pony rides, obstacle course, and outdoor movies on the side of a barn.  In addition, on Saturday, October 21, don't miss the 'Shout Out' young artist music fest at DixieMaze Farms.

Pumpkin Hollow is a friendly family operated a farm that is celebrating their 25th Anniversary this year. You'll be amazed by their large 6-acre maze whether you decide to walk it during the day or at night with a flashlight. Pumpkin Hollow is the mid-south's leading producer of hard-shelled gourds. You have to visit the huge gourd trellis where it almost feels alien-like. Children will love the friendly forest playground, hayrides, pony rides, and zip line and for those faint of heart Horror in the Hollow. New this year goat patio and kids barn.
